Tina Turner’s forthcoming autobiography reveals a shocking secret about her health. Excerpts from her upcoming autobiography, "Tina Turner: My Love Story", reveal that her husband, Erwin Bach – gave her one of his kidneys when she desperately needed a transplant back in 2013 due to kidney disease. Tina says,
“My kidneys were functioning at] 20 percent and plunging rapidly.”
“[He] shocked me by saying that he wanted to give me one of his kidneys…”
She continued:
“[I was] overwhelmed by the enormity of his offer.”
On her feelings post-surgery:
“[I felt] happy, overwhelmed and relieved that we’d come through this alive.”
Tina Turner, 78, married Erwin Back, 72, in a private ceremony in 2013, and is now a Swiss citizen.
